Happy Birthday Madeline!!

On Monday, June 25th Madeline turned 2 years old!!! I made her an elmo cake and she was so excited about it all day. She had discovered that she loves frosting so the whole time I was making the cake she was chasing me around trying to sneak some frosting. When we ate her cake she didn't even hardly eat the cake, just the frosting. I bought Madeline some cheap sunglasses from the dollar store and she thought they were so cool, even though they broke pretty much right away. A dollar well spent :)
The last picture is an outfit that was given to her from her Grandpa and Grandma Smith. I am so thankful we have our little Madeline. She is so fun and makes our life so interesing!

Ultrasound

Since I am measuring small (like always) the doctor did an ultrasound to make sure everything is okay. The baby is still growing and everything seems to be fine. She is just small. Anyway. I was really excited that he gave me some pictures of her face. It makes it so much more real when I see a picture like this!!!

Popsicles!!!

Last night after dinner we gave Madeline and Aliza their dessert. Popsicles! They are both like their daddy and just love popsicles. Aliza was very cute even though she was so dirty. She has gotten into the teasing phase and acts like she is going to share her popsicle and then quickly pulls it away before you can have a taste. Funny little girl.

CANCUN part III

We had so much fun going to Cancun. We are really thankful for Grandpa and Grandma Smith being so kind to treat us to something like this. Now it's back to the real world ... next big adventure... baby # 3!!!

CANCUN part II

I've always heard that buying things in Mexico is really cheap. We were in a touristy place so it didn't seem like there were good prices at all. I had fun trying to get the people to go lower on their prices. At the start of the week I decided I wanted to get my hair braided. The lady who braided my hair was Rosie. She braids hair 6 days a week for at least 8 hours! Wow!!
With our entire family we went to some ancient ruins called Tulum. They were very neat and could possibly have been inhabited by people in the Book of Mormon.
Jared loved seeing all of the lizards. They were everywhere! One of his favorite times on the trip was when we saw crocidiles in the street when we were going to snorkel. Luckily the crocidiles weren't in the snorkeling water too!!

CANCUN!!!

Last week Jared and I were spoiled and got to go to Cancun, Mexico with all of my Smith family. We were celebrating my Grandma's birthday. Their entire posterity was there except for our two kids and my sister Melissa's kids. It was great fun!! Jared's mom and sisters watched the girls for us. Wow it has been a long time since we haven't had little kiddies to take care of! I really missed them a lot, but I was happy they weren't there because it would have been much more difficult to do everything we wanted to do. We stayed at a beach resort that had two pools. Being 8 months pregnant I don't think I could ask for a better week... all you can eat food, swimming, and free time with Jared. Wonderful!

Owls

Jen and I counted 6 owls in our tree today. That made me super happy. This picture was taken by our neighbor Melody.

Our First Pets

Today we went and played tennis and then went to yard sales. A typical Saturday morning for us :) While "yard saling" Jared found himself the perfect fathers day gift... two guinea pigs! He has been wanting to get some sort of animal since we got married, so I finally gave in :) One of the guinea pigs was already named "Lily" and the other one didn't have a name so Jared decided to name the second "Fae" to go along with the characters on the movie "What About Bob?". Funny huh. The girls love the little animals and I have to admit that for our first pets they aren't so bad :)
